Written before the market opens. Every price and move in this brief is as of the close on Wednesday, Sep 16; company pages show live prices. The Buildout is a website built on agentic AI tools, currently in beta, and could have factual errors.
Equities were mixed on Wednesday. SPY (SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust) fell 0.44% to $754.05, while QQQ (Invesco QQQ Trust) closed 0.03% higher at $704.72. The 523-stock AI infrastructure universe outperformed the S&P benchmark by 64 basis points, gaining 0.20% on average with 278 advancers and 240 decliners. The two-name Other bucket led with a +2.22% average gain; Networking followed at +2.15%, while power generation lagged at -1.49%. OCC (Optical Cable Corporation) was the standout at +12.0%, while NKLR (Terra Innovatum Global N.V. Ordinary shares) and ON (ON Semiconductor Corporation) were the largest decliners at -9.0% each. No confirmed earnings dates from the 523-company universe appear on today’s schedule.
CRWV (CoreWeave, Inc. Class A Common Stock) said it continues to contract new compute capacity at higher prices. The company also announced a proposed $3.0 billion convertible senior notes offering, an at-the-market offering program, and Reg FD disclosure. The capacity pricing language matters because it suggests the operator is still seeing willingness to pay up for compute even as capital formation continues.
MTSI (MACOM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc.) introduced a 3.2T chipset solution for high-speed optical connectivity. That is squarely aimed at the next step in AI cluster interconnect, where 800G and 1.6T lanes are scaling toward 3.2T designs. The announcement adds another datapoint that optical silicon roadmaps are compressing upgrade cycles rather than stretching them.
TSEM (Tower Semiconductor Ltd.) said it has begun high-volume shipments of laser-integrated, serviceable optical engine PICs for scale-out and scale-up AI interconnect. The shipment language is notable because it moves silicon photonics from sampling toward production scale, a key signpost for optical interconnect supply availability.
LEU (Centrus Energy Corp.) signed a multi-year HALEU supply contract to support advanced nuclear reactor deployment. High-assay low-enriched uranium is the fuel for multiple advanced reactor designs being marketed against AI data center power demand, so the agreement is a small but direct signal of fuel-cycle activity.
CHRN (ChronoScale Corporation) reports September 21. CHRN (ChronoScale Corporation) is scheduled to report on 2026-09-21; we’ll watch for any financial or demand commentary.
CleanSpark’s proposed $2.227 billion senior secured note offering. CLSK (CleanSpark, Inc.) will test debt-market appetite for energy-intensive compute infrastructure. Pricing and tenor could serve as a read-through for financing conditions across other compute operators.
Continuing Jobless Claims (Sep/05) leads the macro calendar this week.
